Pastor Jay Johnson became lead pastor of Hillcrest Community Church in January 2024, after faithfully serving the church since 2021. He leads with a passion for the Gospel, a love for people, and a deep commitment to the truth of God’s Word. Located in Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, Hillcrest is a growing church focused on biblical teaching, intentional discipleship, and authentic community. We’re not driven by production or performance—but by the simple, life-changing truth of Scripture.
Jay serves Hillcrest with the love and support of his wife, Kassie, and their three children—Alexandra, Julia, and John Thomas. As a family, the Johnsons are committed to helping others grow in faith, experience the love of Jesus, and live with lasting purpose.
Whether it’s through Sunday worship, small groups, Crest Coffee, or neighborhood outreach, Jay’s desire is to see lives changed and the city renewed by the hope of the Gospel.
Outside of ministry, Jay enjoys spending time with his family, riding horses, working outside and hunting. His greatest joy is pointing people to Jesus—in the church, in the city, and in everyday life.
