Life in the fast lane

Faith in a Fast Life

Life moves fast. And most days, it all seems to be accelerating.
From the moment we wake up, demands hit us—work, family, deadlines, pressure. We do our best to keep up, but our souls can’t run on fumes indefinitely.
Here’s the truth we forget: Jesus never rushed. He was never in a hurry. He walked. He listened. He rested. He remained in relationship with the Father.
That’s not weakness — that’s wisdom.
In a world obsessed with more, Jesus calls us to something better: abide. Not hustle harder. Not try to earn peace. Just stay close to Him.
If you’re tired, you’re not alone. But faith shouldn’t have to be another checklist item. It can be the rhythm that reminds you to be rooted.
Here’s how to start:
  1. Scripture before screen. When we start our day in the Word, not the noise. Five minutes with Jesus may determine your next fifteen hours.
  2. Silence isn’t a waste. Cut the podcast. Skip the scroll. Give God space to speak. It’s not where He moves, the noise; it’s where He moves, the stillness.
  3. Worship and community are not options. Sundays are a rest, not a routine. Surround yourself with those who care more about your soul than your schedule. You weren’t created to walk this alone.
Jesus declared, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
That’s not advice. That’s a warning.
So here’s your reminder: Your life pace may not subside, but your posture might.
Slow down. Lean in. Abide.
Jesus is not asking you to do more. He’s inviting you to dwell with Him.
